FAQs

What to look for when making your videographer decision:

Portfolio and reviews! Let's talk about portfolio first. Take your time and watch several highlight examples to get an idea of concept/vibe/emotion/creativity/etc. Compare a few companies and get an idea of what style and concept speaks to your heart. This labor of love will hopefully be something that your family and future generations will enjoy watching for years to come.

The proof is in the work. Regardless of how slick a website might look, or how good a salesman or saleswoman might be, the real test is in the videos that are produced.

The 2nd part of this process is reviews. What are past clients saying? Are the reviews from recent weddings and not just things posted from several years ago? Are they testimonials just posted on the company website, or are they verifiable on sites such as The Knot, Wedding Wire or Zola, etc.? The opinions of past clients/couples/families are invaluable!

How long does the editing process take, and when should we expect to see our videos?

I only require $100 to hold the date and rates. Once you decide to go with me, I just send out a brief list of questions such as location, contact info, timelines, etc. Once I have that info, I put together a simple agreement spelling out the details, what is expected, and what I will be delivering, and that's it! We stay in touch, and then ideally a week or two prior to your date I will request a finalized timeline so that I know everything that is planned, and in what order.

This can vary depending on the season, but my typical turnaround time is about 3 to 4 weeks. I usually release the social media teaser first, then post the extended highlights, and then finally mail all the videos out once everything is completed. Since I am using multiple cameras, the amount of footage I have to work with gives us great options to make magic for you!

What is the booking/deposit process?

I am very negotiable on this. I've had 3 or 4 times where a wedding was called off or rescheduled, and in all cases, I refunded the couple's deposit. Ideally it's a decision that is made at least a few weeks away, so that I don't lose out on opportunities to re-book that date, but I am very understanding of what unfortunately can happen in life sometimes!

Totally up to you, but not something that I really require in order to do a great job for you. I've been at this so long, I can pretty much handle anything on location that I have to deal with.

In my opinion, I think this client/shooter connection is VERY important for photographers because they will be directing and personally guiding you all day, and you will want to make sure you have a good personality match.

However, on the video side, my job is to basically cover the day capturing every great moment, but without really being a part of the action. The day of your event, our time is short, and photographers in most cases have a list of specific shots that you guys have agreed upon. I try not to slow things down, allowing the photographer(s) to get what they need, while simultaneously capturing special moments on the video side!

But after saying all that, if you do have questions regarding packages or services, or if you have some specific thing planned, maybe a surprise, or something unique, lets make sure to connect and work out any details
